A volcano erupts hot magma from the deepest of our mother earth and spits it out as lava. Once cooled down lava appears as volcanic rocks often characterized by its fine-textured, airy almost black structure. 

Volcanic black is a highly-textured, deep and soft black. It shows slightly grey adjacent to jet black and changes its black in exposure to light.
